LISTED firm PLDT Inc. has introduced a prepaid fiber internet service, expanding access to high-speed, unlimited connectivity for more Filipinos without the need for monthly subscriptions or lock-in contracts, the company said.

The new service, PLDT Home Fiber Prepaid, marks a strategic shift in how fixed broadband is delivered in the country. Previously, fiber internet was offered exclusively via postpaid plans.

“Filipinos have a sharp eye for opportunity — embracing online gigs, remote work and multiple income streams to uplift their families and chase their dreams,” said John Palanca, PLDT senior vice president and head of Home Consumer Business. “PLDT Home Fiber Prepaid supports this everyday hustle with fast, reliable internet that keeps up with their pace — no monthly bills, no lock-ins, just full control and flexibility.”

The prepaid service offers speeds of up to 50 Mbps with unlimited data starting at P23.30 per day. Top-up packages are available at P50 for one day, P199 for seven days, P399 for 15 days and P699 for 30 days. A one-time installation fee of P999 includes a seven-day unlimited internet starter pack.

The service runs on PLDT’s nationwide fiber network, which spans approximately 1.2 million cable kilometers and covers 73 percent of towns and 91 percent of provinces, passing nearly 19 million homes.

The launch of the prepaid fiber offering aligns with its push to increase broadband penetration and provide more inclusive digital access to underserved households across the country. / KOC
