The idea started with trying to get rid of stuff piling up at home—closets to clear, shelves to empty, and the realization that letting go is easier when you do it with friends.
That’s how Just Another Garage Sale was born. Organized by OldStuffStaff’s Jana Baduel and Luigi Balazo, what began as a simple decluttering effort turned into a community event worth sharing.
Now it’s back for another round, returning to ATÚA Midtown on July 26-27, 2025 for Just Another Garage Sale 2—a two-day gathering centered on all things preloved, handmade, and homegrown. This time, 27 vendors will offer everything from vintage finds to snacks, art, novelty items and more.
“The first one came together because some friends and I wanted a fresh start for the new year,” Baduel said. “The second one? We honestly had so much fun the first time, we had to do it again.”
But this edition isn’t just a repeat—it’s also a reimagining. What started as a garage sale has grown into a collaborative, creative mini-festival with space to share, perform and connect.
“I also saw this chance to introduce more of my friends to Cebu’s art scene,” Baduel added. “A lot of us weren’t even aware there was so much happening locally.”
Day 1 will feature live music performances by some of Cebu’s favorite indie acts: The Sundown, WIJI KUN, She Must Be Dreaming, Sauf and KHOBEE. On Day 2, an indie film screening will be held in partnership with Binisaya and Friends, offering a laid-back entry point into Cebuano storytelling.
The vendor lineup has grown just as colorful. Food stalls like Abli, Migo’s Pizza, Buffy and Tachi, Cup of Joy and Gelly’s Cookies will be there to keep the crowd fueled. Around the courtyard, expect a curated mix of art and oddity tables from Weave It. by Vann, The Classic Steady, Muoy, Hand Craft by Yanah, Asaanaria, A Raediant Light and Sonnyday Market. Owl Stories & Spirits, a resident at ATÚA, will also serve a special mobile bar menu throughout the event.
At its core, the garage sale remains a grassroots effort—only now with more collaborators, more mediums, and more energy.
“It’s not just about buying and selling,” Balazo said. “It’s about creating something together.”
Just Another Garage Sale 2 takes place July 26–27 from 1 to 10 p.m. at ATÚA Midtown. Admission is free and open to all. / PR
