
SHANE Gentallan put on an impressive performance with a fourth-round stoppage win over Roldan Sasan in the main event of PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions’ “Kumong Bol-anon 18” on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at the Booy Covered Court in Tagbilaran City.
Sasan, who wore heavier 10-ounce gloves because he failed to make weight, came out swinging in the opening round while Gentallan patiently measured his opponent.
In the second round, Gentallan landed a lunging lead uppercut that rocked Sasan.
The 26-year-old Gentallan gained momentum in the third round and connected with his quick combinations.
Gentallan hurt Sasan in the fourth round with a beautifully timed uppercut. He also landed shots to the body that slowed Sasan down.
After a suffering a beating in the fourth, Sasan quit on his stool and didn’t want to continue with the fight.
Gentallan won the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) minimumweight strap and improved to 11-1 with six knockouts. Sasan fell to 8-6-1 with three knockouts.
PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions head Atty. Floriezyl Echavez Podot has huge plans for Gentallan and is planning to let him fight for a regional title next.
In the undercard, Angilou Dalogdog (10-0, 4 KOs) remained unbeaten with a fifth-round technical knockout of Francis Jay Diaz (8-9-1, 1 KO), Richard Laspona (7-0, 5 KOs) scored a third-round stoppage of former world title challenger Vergilio Silvano (21-18-2, 12 KOs), and Datu Adam (2-0, 2 KOs) made quick work of veteran Anthony Galigao (10-24, KOs) with a first-round knockout. / EKA
