GLOBE and GoTyme Bank have signed a Data Sharing Agreement (DSA) to strengthen fraud investigations and enhance consumer protection amid rising financial crimes.

The agreement, signed by Globe chief information security officers Anton Bonifacio and GoTyme’s Albert dela Cruz, allows both parties to share critical information, including mobile numbers linked to fraudsters. This eliminates the lengthy process of obtaining warrants or subpoenas, enabling quicker action against scams.

Aligned with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and National Privacy Commission guidelines, the partnership reinforces Globe’s cybersecurity efforts and GoTyme’s commitment to secure banking. Both firms are also collaborating with financial institutions and law enforcement agencies to prevent cybercrime.

“This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to championing cybersecurity and protecting our customers from the growing threats in the digital world,” said Globe chief privacy officer lawyer Irish Salandanan-Almeida.

GoTyme’s dela Cruz added, “This DSA with Globe augments the bank’s cybersecurity systems and measures to protect customers from cybercriminals and fraudsters.”

Globe said it continues to expand anti-fraud collaborations with banks and financial institutions, aiming for seamless and real-time fraud detection and mitigation. / KOC
