THE 2012 Harley Davidson squad narrowly escaped a major upset, eking out a 67-65 win against 2006 Subtero in Division B of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (Shaabaa) Season 28 at the Magis Eagles Arena in Mandaue City on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

With the victory, the 2012 Harley Davidson team improved to 4-3, tying its victim for sixth and seventh place in the rankings.

Harley Davidson took a commanding 42-25 lead midway in the second quarter and closed the half at 44-33. But Subtero, with Mikey Cabahug leading the attack, managed to drop a 15-2 rally in the third frame and cut down the lead to just four, 44-40.

From thereon, the contest turned into a gritty, back-and-forth battle with neither team able to pull away significantly.

However, Dan Tecson, Simon Guanzon and Julius Cadavis went back to work and ultimately helped the 2012 Harley Davidson team secure the victory.

Tecson exploded for 19 points, including five three-pointers, enough for him to be named Best Player of the Game. Cadavis chalked up a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Guanzon contributed 15 points.

Cabahug led Subtero with 29 markers and eight rebounds, while Luis Yu added 22 points.

In Division C, Felixberto Jabonela IV fired 31 points and pulled down 16 rebounds as 2015-Imperial House Furniture thrashed 2021-Fadi 86-70 to remain unbeaten and share the lead with Batch 2018 at 4-0.
