A 28-YEAR-OLD call center agent was reportedly devastated by a recent breakup before he jumped from the 18th floor of a condominium in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City, at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Friends of the call center agent, who was identified by the alias Aljier and a native of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, said in a radio DyHP interview that he had been deeply saddened after the separation.
The couple had lived together in the rented unit, and although they had parted ways months earlier, his former partner continued to help pay the rent. The friends were shocked to learn of his death.
The Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) found no foul play in the incident. Lt. Col. Mercy Villaro, the MCPO’s information officer, said the condominium management provided investigators with a copy of the closed circuit television footage.
The footage, which showed the hallway leading to the victim’s unit, confirmed that Aljier was the last person to enter.
Police said no one else entered the unit at the time, indicating that no one pushed him.
The call center agent was found lifeless on the ground floor, with severe injuries to his head and body.
His family said they were convinced no other person was involved in his death after viewing the footage. They also expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the police investigation. / AYB
