A 43-YEAR-OLD candle supplier was arrested in a buy-bust conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bohol Provincial Office around 4:20 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, in Purok 5, Barangay San Isidro, Tagbilaran City.

PDEA Central Visayas Director Alex Tablate identified the suspect as alias "Randy," 43, a resident of the area and considered a high-value target.

Authorities seized three large packs of shabu weighing about 55 grams, with an estimated market value of P374,000.

Also recovered were the buy-bust money and the motorcycle used in the illegal drug trade.

The confiscated items were turned over to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Bohol Provincial Forensic Unit for chemical analysis and proper disposition.

According to PDEA 7 Information Officer Leia Alcantara, the suspect underwent a two-week case buildup after agents received intelligence from a trusted source. Reports indicate he had been selling around 300 grams of shabu per week from his supplier.

Following the validation of information, the anti-illegal drug operation was launched in coordination with the Bohol Maritime Police, PNP Drug Enforcement Group, and the Tagbilaran City Police Station.

The suspect will face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165. (AYB)
