A 29-YEAR-OLD man listed as a high-value individual by the Philippine National Police (PNP) was arrested by operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit-Police Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bohol Police Provincial Office during a buy-bust at 9:28 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Purok 8, Barangay Bool, Tagbilaran City.
The suspect was identified as Norbert Afeche, also known as "Pipoy," a resident of Purok Del Carmen, Barangay Villalimpia, Loay, Bohol.
Authorities seized sachets of shabu weighing 200 grams, with a standard drug price of P1,360,000.
Afeche had been under surveillance for three weeks after police received information linking him to the sale of illegal drugs.
Reports indicate that the suspect was capable of distributing 100 grams of shabu per week, supplying areas in Tagbilaran City, Loay, Baclayon, and nearby towns.
According to Afeche, his supplier is currently detained inside a prison facility.
Bohol Police Provincial Director Police Colonel Arnel Banzon commended his personnel for arresting the high-value target.
He assured the public that efforts to eradicate illegal drugs in Bohol will continue to ensure peace and order in the province.
“Padayon ang atong paningkamot sa pagpakunhod sa iligal nga droga sa Bohol. Kini nga kalampusan usa ka pruweba sa atong dedikasyon sa paghimo sa atong probinsya nga mas luwas ug gawas sa droga. Ato kining ipadayon alang sa kahapsay ug kalinaw sa katawhan sa Bohol,” said Banzon.

The Bohol police have filed charges against the suspect for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). (AYB)
