RUNNERS, seasoned or just a pack of friends and families, have another organized running event to look forward to on June 1 -- the Johndorf Run 2025 -- at the Cebu Business Park.
Property developer Johndorf Ventures Corp. marks its 40th year building residential communities and recently an office tower with the event that offers runners perks for their participation.
Johndorf assistant marketing manager Jannie Cañares announced that cash prizes of up to P12,000 will be at stake, along with gold, silver and bronze medals for the top winners in every race category.
Categories
The race will have four categories: 3K, 6K, 9K and 12K. It starts and ends in front of the northeast side of the newly inaugurated Johndorf Tower on Mindanao Ave., situated across Ayala Terraces.
Participants will get the usual race shirts and race bibs with timing chips, plus drawstring bags and raffle entries, according to Cañares.
Finishers will get a souvenir medal each, while those completing the 9K and 12K runs will further receive a finisher’s shirt each, with sizes ranging from extra small to 3extra large.
The event will kick off early with a call time at 3 a.m. A Zumba warm-up session will follow a short opening program at 4 a.m. The gun will fire off at 4:30 a.m., starting with the 12K category, and moving down to the 3K group.
After the race, 3K and 6K runners will be served with snacks, while 9K and 12K participants will be provided with a sumptuous meal, Cañares said.
Discount
Hydration stations will be generously positioned along the route, while designated first aid stations with emergency responders will be stationed throughout the race route to ensure everyone’s safety.
Designated parking areas will be available near the venue on a first-come, first-served basis. Car owners will need to arrive early to secure a spot. Certain slots may be charged with parking fees.
Winners in all categories, both male and female, will be announced onstage near the race arc at the vacant lot southeast of Johndorf Tower, across Mercedez Benz Tower and facing Apple One Tower.
To capture memorable moments, professional photographers will be stationed along the route, and event photos will be uploaded to official social media pages after the run.
Registration for the Johndorf Run 2025 opened last March 22 and will close on May 23. Runners may avail themselves of a discounted registration but only until April 30.
Minors aged 17 years and below may register but will need a parent’s consent, signed and submitted before the race, even if accompanied by an adult during the run.
For safety reasons, strollers and baby joggers, as well as pets, will not be allowed on the race course.
Detailed event information, including fees, is available on the JohndorfHomes Facebook page, where the online registration link, powered by Coco Running at MyRunTime.com, can also be found. / PR
