THE country’s most promising junior golfers continue their quest for spots in the prestigious Elite Junior Finals of the ICTSI PGT Championship starting Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Del Monte Golf Club in Bukidnon.
The tournament kicks off the four-leg Mindanao swing of the nationwide series, which also includes stops at Pueblo de Oro (July 1 to 3), South Pacific (July 9 to 11) and Apo Golf (July 14 to 16).
The prestigious Elite Junior Finals is scheduled from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 at The Country Club in Laguna.
Mactan leg winner Alexis Nailga leads the boys’ 15-18 category. Other contenders are fellow Bukidnon bet and last year’s Match Play Finals winner Clement Ordeneza and Visayas standouts Nyito and Roman Tiongko of Cebu and Bacolod’s Santi Asuncion.
Spearheading the girls’ division is Davao’s Precious Zaragosa, runner-up in the Mactan leg. Challenging her are Bukidnon locals Zero Plete and Crista Miñoza, Cagayan de Oro’s Kenley Yu and Venice Guillermo and Davao’s Santinna Patosa.
The roster in the boys’ 11-14 category, to be played over 36 holes, has South Cotabato’s Jared Saban and Laurence Saban; Davao’s Nicolas Bernardo; Cagayan de Oro’s Ken Guillermo, Franco Lim and Kian Umpar; and Bukidnon’s Mikhail Namocatcat, James Langamin and Miko Woo.
Mactan winner Brittany Tamayo of South Cotabato eyes a second straight in the girls’ 11-14 category where she will face CDO’s Margaux Espina and Sasha Edwards, Bukidnon’s Angel Wahing and Yvonne Colim and Davao’s Kimberly Baroquillo and Ayla Pavadora.
In the 7-10 category, fighting for the girls title are Jilliane Namocatcat, Maegan Langamin, Ashia Frayco, Francesca Geroy, Sistine Yu, Soleil Molde and Arianna Garcia, while Bukidnon’s Simon Apilat and Mactan champion Ethan Lago banner the boys division. / PNA
