Kitchie Nadal, the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) queen and hitmaker known for iconic songs like “Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin” and “Same Ground,” will join forces with Bisrock bands including Emping, Fervent, Rommel Tuico and The Brews, Indephums, Iping Amores, The Agadiers and the SNMMS Music Fest Champion for a benefit concert.

Proceeds will support children with special needs at the Stimulation and Therapeutic Activity Center. The event will take place at Hoopsdome in Mactan, Lapu Lapu City, Cebu on Feb. 14, 2025.

The artists held a press conference at bai Hotel Cebu on Feb. 12, where they shared details about the upcoming Rockin’ Valentine’s Benefit Concert. Nadal expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to perform in Cebu, noting that this will be her first concert in the city after a series of international shows in Madrid and Paris.

Reflecting on her recent 20th anniversary concert, Nadal was pleasantly surprised to see many young fans in the audience. With this in mind, she aims to create a setlist that resonates with everyone, from children to adults. “We want it to be a concert for all ages,” she said, ensuring that the music will be relatable and enjoyable for everyone.

Unique musical experience

Nadal said attendees can expect a fresh and vibrant performance, including her unreleased single “Landas,” which will be her next release. She emphasized that fans should look forward to a setlist featuring songs from her various albums, including beloved tracks like “Love Letter” and “Malaya.” “I’m super humbled because these kids are still updated and following my music,” she said, reflecting on the lasting appeal of her songs across generations.

Collaborations, musical evolution

When asked about future projects, Nadal expressed interest in collaborating with newer artists, highlighting Zild as someone she admires and hopes to work with. “I always say Zild. I listen to his album and he’s very good,” she said, excited about blending different musical styles.

She also shared how her experiences abroad have influenced her sound. “Over time, I’ve been performing internationally and have been exposed to various genres like electronic reggae,” she said. This evolution, along with her openness to new sounds from younger artists, has helped her music stay relevant.

Night of rock, reggae

The concert promises an exciting night filled with rock and reggae. “It’s going to be super fun,” Nadal said, inviting fans to join a Valentine’s celebration of music that transcends generations.

With the combined efforts of Kitchie Nadal and the Bisrock bands, the benefit concert will not only entertain but also support a meaningful cause, making this Valentine’s Day a memorable one for both artists and the audience. S
