HEAVY-HITTING middleweight Wel-john Mindoro faces fellow unbeaten pug Omar Gutierrez in an eight-rounder Sunday, June 8, 2025 (PH time), at the Boeing Center of Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas, US.
Mindoro is having his third straight fight since moving to the US in 2024.
Mindoro had two stunning wins in the US. He demolished Tyler Goodjohn in two rounds and stopped Lucas de Abreu in three.
The 25-year-old Mindoro has knocked out all of his opponents except Japanese Takeshi Inoue, who he fought to a split draw in 2023.
Mindoro trained for this fight in Las Vegas along with some elite Filipino fighters like Mark Magsayo, Eumir Marcial, Carl Jammes Martin and Jerwin Ancajas.
On the other hand, Gutierrez is making a comeback after a four-year hiatus. He last saw action in 2021 when he fought Mauricio Noriega to a technical draw.
