THE Lapu-Lapu City Government awarded 67 board and licensure exam passers with P5,000 cash incentives and certificates of recognition during a ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025.
Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan led the awarding, which was held at the mayor’s conference room.
Chan said the awardees’ achievements are a source of pride for the city.
The passers came from various fields, including civil engineering, education, nursing, chemical technology and naval architecture.
In a Facebook post, Chan said the initiative is meant to inspire students to excel in their studies and work hard to pass licensure exams. He assured that the City will continue to provide similar incentives to encourage academic excellence.
Qualified applicants who are bona fide residents of Lapu-Lapu City may apply for the program by submitting the following documents to the Office of the City Mayor: a barangay residency certification, a passing certificate from the Professional Regulation Commission, a request letter addressed to the mayor, an updated voter’s certificate and a photocopy of a valid ID.
The distribution of cash incentives is authorized under City Ordinance 14-095-2017 and Resolution 14-2138-2017. / DPC
