FAMILIAR faces took the spotlight in the IPI Run 2025 as Prince Joey Lee and Artjoy Torregosa claimed the half-marathon crowns on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the SM Seaside City, the starting and finish line for approximately 16,000 runners and fitness enthusiasts.
Lee, one of the top athletes from the Spectrum Runners Club, crossed the finish line 1 hour, 16 minutes, and 18 seconds to beat Oswaldo Arcelo by 53 ticks for the men’s 21-kilometer crown. Joseph Arnel Emia came in at distant third place with a time of 1:22:13.
Torregosa, on the other hand, topped the women’s 21K race, clocking in 1:25:51. Michelle Zamora finished second place in 1:26:28, while Kay Razel Cundangan rounded out the podium with a time of 1:32:23.
For the 16K category, Darwin Lucaylucay won the men’s division in 58:55. Asia Paraase topped the distaff side in 1:11:32.
Junjie Gemarino (1:01:36) and Edilberto Batiancila (1:13:03) were the runners-up in the men’s division, while Stephanie Cadosale (1:12:28) and Jane Cardoza (1:25:26) completed the top three in the women’s class.
The top three in the 10K category were Louie Jay Lastra (35:54), Carlo Gemparo (36:54), and Venice Jade Lavador (44:17) for the men’s division, while Ma. Elfie Monsendo (52:08), Rhea Calandingan (56:53), and Ali Riesco dominated the women’s side.
In the 5K category, the podium finishers were Janry Pelones (16:45), Jessie Abelgos (16:46), and Kent Gabino (17:57) in the men’s division. On the women’s side, Gretchen Sambo (20:47), Jemary Cañon (21:21), and Kydie Ashriel Guinto (21:24) secured podium finishes.
