AS CEBU slowly recovers and rises after Typhoon Odette, the spirit of bayanihan is still very evident. Cebuanos work together in rebuilding lives through acts of kindness and initiatives like relief operations, donation drives and fundraisers.

Music filled the air at The Terraces at Ayala Center Cebu on January 9, 2022 as up-and-coming local musicians gathered for the "Rise Up Concert Cebu," a fundraising event for typhoon-affected communities in southern Cebu.

Organized by "Anak sa Aloguinsan," the concert hosted by Atty. John Menguito and Apple Abarquez featured Kantahan sa Aloguinsan finalists Amadeo Taculod, John Dave Tangcay, Claire Anne Yongco and Champion Angeline Maurin, along with a special performance by Cebuana singer and host Apple Abarquez.

It was attended by at least 500 individuals and raised P40,000 which will be used to provide GI sheets, plywoood and other building materials, food packs and grocery items to displaced families in the municipalities of Aloguinsan, Alegria, Ronda and Sibonga in southern Cebu.

One can keep the bayanihan spirit alive and help rebuild the lives of typhoon-affected communities in Cebu through "Alagang AyalaLand." In-kind donations such as canned goods, rice, drinking water, instant noodles and hygiene kits are being accepted at The Active Zone near Breadtalk.
