THE holidays call for times spent with loved ones, or a whirlwind tour to faraway lands.

Fashion designer Jessie Lastimosa gives a nod to the winter chill with her latest collection titled “Holiday Romance.”

The collection is a mix of bridal and formal pieces. Jessie shared that it’s a cross between easy, casual wear and effortless formal wear. The collection highlights finesse but is also, and most importantly, wearable, which Lastimosa always puts in mind. A jumpsuit is also part of the collection that comes with sheer bodice tucked with colorful laces which took hours as it was hand-stitched.

“I’m so passionate in terms of perfect fit and the whole feel of the garment. I have mermaid gowns which look so fluid and some delicate soft tulle long skirts which are very dreamy,” she said.

When asked about the holiday elements incorporated, she said: “I chose various hues to give more life to the garment. It might look dramatic but it’s still playful; formal but feels young.”

Telling it through the designs, each piece is a story about her short trip to Europe last winter and how picturesque the place was.

“It has always been a dream to experience firsthand and to see how photogenic these places are, how these people live,” shared Jessie, looking back to that European vibe she felt.

“This place is couture and I’m crazy about it!”
