UP Political Science Society, in cooperation with University of the Philippines Cebu, will organize a forum, “Never Again to Dictatorship: A Public Forum in Remembrance of the Struggle against Martial Law.” This will be on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 at the UP Cebu Performing Arts Hall (PAH), Library Building from 9 a.m. - 12 noon.
The resource speakers will share their stories of struggles and survival during Martial Law. The activity will be valuable for educators, students and people engaged in development work as it highlights acts of heroism and struggles of men and women during the turbulent episode of our Philippine history—the martial law era. The forum will likewise be a venue to thresh out the issue of historical revisionism confronting educators and human rights advocates in the country. Prior to the forum, there will be a symbolic synchronized flag raising in all UP campuses with key messages at Oblation Square at 8 a.m.
The activity is also sponsored by Political Science 160 of the Political Science Program of the College of Social Sciences.
