CELEBRITIES. Stars of the GMA television drama “The Write One” visited Cebu and met with Cebuano fans on April 15, 2023.

ON April 15, 2023, GMA Regional TV brought some of its brightest stars of the hit romantic drama series “The Write One” to Cebu City: Paul Salas, Mikee Quintos and Analyn Baro. The artists held an exclusive press conference, a Kapuso Mall show, and visited the second leg of Sparkle Caravan in the search for the next Kapuso star where aspiring Kapuso artists will be given a chance to showcase their singing talent in the Sparkle Caravan Singing Audition from 10 a.m. to 5 pm.

“We are very much delighted to bring the stars of the primetime series ‘The Write One’ to Cebu City as it is our way of continuously building rapport and expressing gratitude for the continuous support of our Kapusong Cebuanos,” said first vice president and head of GMA Regional TV and Synergy, and acting head of GMA Integrated News Oliver Victor B. Amoroso.

“Through the regional arm of GMA Network, GMA Regional TV, fans can expect more surprises from our Kapuso stars as they visit different provinces and cities throughout the year.”

As the first project collaboration between GMA Network and Viu, “The Write One” follows the tale of Liam (Ruru Madrid), a frustrated writer who is granted the opportunity to rewrite his love and life story with the help of a mysterious typewriter.

Viewers continue to be enthralled by the story as Liam, a creative director of a film production company in an alternate reality, finally finds the love of his life Joyce (Bianca Umali) in the person of Savana who is now a celebrity superstar. Unfortunately, Savana seems to hate Liam. In the new timeline, Liam is in a relationship with fashion icon Via (Mikee), while Savana is being wooed by Hans (Paul)—a lawyer who offers her both emotional and financial security.

Real-life couple Salas and Quintos admitted that they obviously felt the pressure because this is their first time to be working together in a long prime time show on the network and to also work with Umali and Madrid together.

“We’d like to honestly say that it’s a bit challenging because although Mikee and I have worked together before, it was just a guesting or even just one episode. For this drama, we are seeing each other almost every day. Of course, there are a lot of adjustments because we both have different workstyles at work and must really communicate. And that’s what I like about that because we both helped each other grow acting-wise,” Salas said.

“So, because of that also, I feel like we make use of that time to set as a better couple. We realize also that that we are both competitive, so we made sure to not get easily annoyed for criticisms. We felt the teamwork and that we’re all in this together,” Quintos added.

Meanwhile, Baro—who is a Kapusong Bisdak from Ormoc, Leyte—expressed her gratitude for the continuous project opportunity given to her after her big break in the drama, “First Yaya.”

“I came here last time, it was ‘Bubble Gang’s’ concert. And now, I came back as a drama actress. ‘Bubble Gang’ is very different from ‘First Yaya’ and this show because this was heavy drama. I am really happy and proud to represent the Bisaya community knowing that only a few of us can enter the industry,” she emphasized.

“The Write One” airs 9:35 p.m. from Monday to Thursday on GMA Telebabad with simulcast airing on Pinoy Hits and I Heart Movies, and at 11:25 p.m. on GTV. Advance episodes can be seen on Viu Philippines from Saturday to Tuesday.
