AROUND 14 vehicles were clamped for obstruction after the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) conducted an operation in Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City, Friday dawn, August 30, 2019.

Several trucks, including a truck carrying fish at Pasil Fish Port, were also clamped by CCTO for overnight parking.

CCTO operations chief Andres Bayarcal earlier said that during the conduct of their operations, everyone will be treated equally.

He said a clamped vehicle is not necessarily towed immediately.

The owner must go to the CCTO office with the citation ticket for overnight parking and the payment of P1,500. Failure to do so within eight hours means the vehicle will be towed, which is another violation. The towing fee is P1,500.

THe CCTO is continuing its crackdown against overnight parking in the city in accordance to the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte and the Department of the Interior and Local Government to clear all public roads of obstructions. (Benjie B. Talisic of Superbalita Cebu/JGS)
