2 children die in Ermita fire

LIVE! Aftermath of Ermita fire Two children were reported dead while ten were injured in the morning blaze that hit a residential area in Sitio Kawit, Barangay Ermita on Monday morning, May 7. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) 7 confirmed that two children, John Mark Digman and Jovielyn Digman were found burned beyond recognition. Injured were Ida Alolod, Joel Digman, Jennelyn Digman,Jovin Alolod, Edwina Alolod, Sandra Echavez, and Inday Echavez all with second degree burns, Tirso Gucela, Rachael Napare with first degree burns and Jennelyn Wagas with laceration on her left hand. The fire was responded at 5:46 a.m. and was raised to Task Force Bravo at 6:24 a.m. It was traced to the cooking area located at the ground floor of the house owned by Ida Alolod. Damage was pegged at P1.5 million. All firetrucks from the Cebu City Fire Station, neighboring cities, municipalities and Cebu City Fire Volunteers responded.
