TWO persons who were previously imprisoned due to illegal drugs were sent back to jail after they were arrested in a drug raid in the mountain barangay of Manipis, Talisay City, Cebu at 9:25 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Police Lieutenant Elwood Ebona from the Drug Enforcement Unit of Talisay City Police Station, who led the operation, identified the suspects as Raymond Silva, 37, of Purok Kaimito. Barangay Manipis, and his neighbor Elmer Radana, 39.

The two yielded suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P36,000 during the raid.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of Talisay City Police Station, said they learned from their investigation that Silva was previously arrested in Valenzuela City, Metro Manila in 2019 for violating Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and was released after serving his sentence, while Radana was also sent to jail in 2017 for a similar case but was freed several days after posting a bail for his temporary liberty and later on he was placed under probation by the court.

The Talisay police also learned that the drug supply of the two came from a certain Alvin. (BBT, TPT)
