TWO suspected drug pushers were killed in a shootout with police in Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City Tuesday dawn, December 18.

Rodel Nacario, 29, and Kevin Baguio were killed after they attempted to fight back with cops during a drug bust in Sitio Hawod, Barangay Bulacao around 3:55 a.m.

Talisay City Police Chief Superintendent Marlu Conag said that Nacario is considered a high profile drug pusher in the area and was also known as a "downliner" to suspected drug lord Steve Go.

"Rodel Nacario is a known and flamboyant drug pusher in Bulacao na direct line ni Steve Go noon and always na nagmamayabang (being boastful) na untouchable because he has big protectors. Sya na cguro ang ( maybe he is the) biggest pusher diyan (there) sir sa (in) Bulacao," Conag said.

Police said Baguio, one of the fatalities, was identified as an alleged hitman.

Conag claimed that Baguio was ordered by Nacario to call the police who were affecting their illegal business.

The police recovered from the operation one large pack, one medium pack, 10 small packs, and 18 triangular packs of suspected shabu, and two pistols owned by the two suspects. (JKV)
