THREE companies in Central Visayas have sent applications for exemption from the P31 increase in wage for minimum workers in the region.
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-Central Visayas said they received the three applications, which include two from corporations based in Cebu but with branches in the cities of Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu and other areas in the province.
Lawyer Evita Mendoza-Balane, officer-in-charge (OIC) board secretary of RTWPB-Central Visayas, said the first company to file the application is based in Lapu-Lapu City.
She said the wage board has yet to issue a resolution on whether the application is approved or rejected.
The RTWPB 7 is giving employers in the region until August 12 of this year to file for wage hike exemption.
