FOUR personnel from the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (Team) were removed from service due to alleged “misconduct.”

Edwin Jumao-as, the head of Team, said on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, that the personnel dismissed from service have already been replaced.

Jumao-as said they had received complaints against the personnel last May, and after a thorough investigation, the recommendation was to terminate them.

He clarified that some of the dismissed personnel already had previous records of offenses and were even suspended at some point.

Repeating the violation once more led to their eventual termination.

Hyl Retuya, head of the Team’s legal office, said on Wednesday, June 21, that possible termination of personnel may be caused by a number of offenses including insubordination, tardiness, absences and bribery.

The Team chief did not reveal what the four personnel committed that led to their termination.

Jumao-as added that some of the offending personnel admitted to their mistakes and agreed with the termination, while the others had chosen to resign.

Report misconduct

Jumao-as said they don’t tolerate erring personnel and encourage all motorists or drivers that have complaints against their workers to report these incidents to their office.

“We will not tolerate our personnel if they have committed any misconduct. I urge the motorists, drivers if they have a complaint, feel free to go to our office,” Jumao-as said in Cebuano.

Meanwhile, Team is reorienting its personnel on etiquette and proper customer service.

Data shared by Team showed that there are already 13 Team personnel who have been terminated from service since 2021. The department at the time had around 189 personnel.
