Around 400,000 riders are now part of Pag-Ibig Fund’s Asenso Riders, said chief executive officer Marilene Acosta on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

This proves that the Pag-Ibig Raffle Promo, which is giving away 10 brand-new motorcycles for its three installment draws, has been effective in encouraging riders to become members of the state’s national savings program that also provides affordable shelter financing.

Acosta said Cebu was chosen as the second destination for the Asenso Rider Raffle Promo launch since Cebu has the most number of Asenso Riders next to Manila.

Pag-Ibig Fund said the contributions from the riders are not deductions, but are actually investments.

“Sila ay magiging miyembro, at dahil sila ay miyembro, magkakaroon sila ng pagkakataon na maenjoy ang mga benepisyo ng Pag-Ibig Fund kagaya ng pag-avail ng short-term loans, pangpuhunan,” Acosta said.

(They will become members, and as members, they will have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of the Pag-Ibig Fund, such as availing of short-term loans for investment purposes.)

Among the most important benefits, Acosta said, is the ability to take out loans with the lowest interest rates and longest payment period in the country.

The Asenso Rider Raffle Promo is being done in installments, with the preliminary draw on May 25 to June 30, the second draw on May 25 until September 30, and the grand draw on June 1 to November 30, 2023.

Angkas Cebu City Operations director Enrico Luis Luk said some of their riders already have Pag-Ibig memberships from their previous jobs, but now, with the partnerships with Pag-Ibig Fund, the drivers will now have opportunities to better their life through their current trade.

“This is really nice to let them (riders) know, we’re gonna spread the word to all our bikers [that this] is not just a mandatory benefit but it has an actual practical use,” Luk said.

For those hesitating to enroll because of doubts, Marie Antoniette D. Diaz, senior vice president of the Member Services Operations Sector of Pag-Ibig Fund, said the fund is a form of savings for every member.

“In reality, it’s your savings. Maybe when people realize that they’re saving for the future, not just the present, then they will realize it’s a good thing,” Diaz said.

She also mentioned that payment is now more manageable since Pag-Ibig Fund now accepts electronic payment for self-contributions.

Diaz added that this is especially important for the riders since it gives them an opportunity to save up for their future or dream homes.
