FIVE persons were arrested in the campaign against illegal numbers game called "swertres" in Cebu province on the last week of January 2023.
The suspects were identified as Archie Bago, 30, of Barangay New Bago, Asturias town; Edwin Momo Katanaman, 45, a resident of Sitio Sombil Dos, Barangay Poblacion, Tabuelan; Jay Duterte Sacristan, 22, of Barangay Jubay, Claudine Bog-ot, 25, of Barangay Poblacion and Arian Trace Libato, 18, of Barangay Jubay, both from Liloan town.
Bago was arrested by Tuburan policemen headed by Master Sergeant Eric Diamante, while Sacristan, Bog-ot and Libato were apprehended separately by Lilo-an policemen.
More than P1,000 in bet money and gambling paraphernalia were seized from the suspects.
The anti-illegal gambling operations were done under the supervision of Police Regional Office (PRO 7) Director Brigadier General Jerry Bearis.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office has always reminded the general public to play only at swertres establishments authorized by Saturn Gaming N' Amusement Corporation. (BBT, TPT)
