5,000 vacancies await job seekers in Mandaue City

CLOSE to 5,000 jobs await job seekers for both local and international employment as the Public Employment Services Office (Peso) of Mandaue City prepares to conduct a Local and International Job Fair on April 29, 2023.

Mandaue City Peso chief Musoline Suliva told reporters on Tuesday, April 11, that the event will be held at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Suliva said they expect thousands of applicants to flock to MCSCC, as around 33 local and four overseas companies have expressed interest in participating in the job fair.

He said among the vacancies are positions for production and mall workers, nurses, carpenters, call center agents, among others.

The Peso conducts at least four job fair events in a year.

Its recent job fair held at the Insular Square in Barangay Tabok on July 23, 2022, recorded at least 1,726 registered applicants, of which 1,186 were hired.

The April 29 job fair will be Peso’s first job fair this year. Suliva said they are set to conduct job fairs on June 24, Aug. 19, and Oct. 14.
