FIFTY-FOUR couples exchanged their vows during a mass wedding inside the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
The activity was organized by the City Government for couples who had been together for a long time but never had the financial means to tie the knot.
It was also one of the many activities the City had lined up for its 54th charter anniversary on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
Aside from providing the venue and food for free, the City also gave each couple a cake and a bottle of wine along with a bag of rice and a new chopping board as gifts.
“Ato na gyud siguraduhon noh nga kada tuig duna na gyud ta’y mass wedding nga ipahigayon for Charter Day,” said Mayor Jonas Cortes.
