A FRATERNITY leader was shot dead by riding-in-tandem gunmen in Barangay San Isidro in the southern town of San Fernando, Cebu around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

The victim was identified as 40-year-old Lloyd Procianos, married, grand skeptron of the Alpha Kappa Rho (Akrho) San Fernando Council, who resided in the barangay.

Procianos was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police have yet to identify the perpetrators.

Witnesses said the gunman and the motorcycle driver were both wearing a black shirt and a black jacket with a hoodie.

Senior Master Sergeant Marvin Ando, investigator of the San Fernando Police Station, said Procianos was on his way to buy mineral water on board his motorcycle when he was shot several times after he got out of his gate.

Police recovered seven shell casings and a slug from the crime scene.

Ando said they are also checking the footage of closed-circuit TV cameras in the vicinity since witnesses didn’t see where the riding in tandem go after the ambush.

Meanwhile, police are looking at several motives for the attack.

Ando said they are not discounting the possibility that it had something to do with Procianos being the town’s Akrho leader.

He said they will have to interview the wife again since they did not receive reports of the victim getting threats or having enemies.

He said they are also looking at politics as a motive.

He said Procianos worked as a job order for his uncle who is a municipal councilor of San Fernando.

Ando said the victim also had many supporters because of his status as an Akrho leader. (GPL, PJB)
