A COUNCILOR of Barangay Bogo in the southern town of Argao, Cebu was arrested on Monday afternoon, November 14, 2022, by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cebu Provincial Field Unit (PFU) and members of the Argao Police Station.

Danilo Gealon Felomino, 54, is charged with violating Republic Act 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Major Nazarino Emia, CIDG Cebu PFU chief, said the warrant was issued by Municipal Trial Court Branch 56 Judge Leonardo Peque Carreon in Argao on the same day.

Bail was set at P30,000.

According to Emia, the complainant is Annade Bedolido Davin, Barangay Bogo’s treasurer.

Davin filed the case against Felomino before the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas after he failed to submit his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth in June 2021.

Emia said the councilor was released on Tuesday, November 15, after the latter posted bail. (GPL, PJB)
