THE Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) has ordered all police units in neighboring municipalities to conduct a dragnet operation after Barangay Manguiao, Asturias barangay captain Mario Tundag and his wife were shot dead Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
Tundag and his wife were onboard a motorcycle when shot by riding-in-tandem gunmen who were pursuing them in front of Asturias Central School around 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
Lieutenant Colonel Mark Gifter Sucalit, deputy provincial director for operations of CPPO, said they will investigate all angles of the crime, including personal grudge, politics and business interest.
Sucalit said the victim had been previously detained for illegal possession of firearm. (AYB/TPT)
