THIS is sad news for bookworms.

Booksale has announced on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, that it will be permanently closing its Parkmall branch in Mandaue City.

Booksale is a chain of bookstores in the Philippines that sells secondhand books at very affordable prices.

Teresa Dominguez, sales supervisor of Booksale Cebu Inc., said in a post on their official Booksale Cebu Facebook group that the branch's last day of operation will be on August 31.

"Please visit our store while you can. Support our store to the very last minute. We thank our regular customers who have been supporting BOOKSALE throughout the years. God Bless Booksale," Dominguez said.

Dominguez said Booksale branches at SM City Cebu and Robinsons Fuente Osmeña are still open.

Last December 15, 2020, Booksale also closed its E-Mall branch, much to the dismay of book lovers in Cebu.

"This made me so sad... this is one of my comfort places when I was still in college until now and this is where I found the book that changed my life for the better," one commenter said.

"Huhu... takbuhan ko ang shop na 'to noong college days ko. Sarap maningin-ningin, dami books," another said.

Dominguez encouraged bookies to support its two remaining branches in Cebu.

"Also support the two remaining branches SM CITY CEBU AND ROBINSON FUENTE. Visit to your nearest branches. Thank you," she said.
