AFTER the series of crimes that occurred in Cebu City, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) will deploy the Reactionary Support Standby Force, which is composed of admin personnel of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas, in crime-prone areas.

According to CCPO Director Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, they will be focusing on the patrol beat system under the jurisdiction of the Parian Police Station, Abellana Police Station, Waterfront Police Station, Mabolo Police Station and Carbon Police Station.

“We’re grateful to the local government unit for its overwhelming support with regards to communication equipment and mobility,” Dalogdog said in Cebuano.

The police director admitted that criminals have returned with the return of normal activity in the city.

One netizen posted on her Facebook account that she lost her wallet to armed men riding in tandem along Escario Street in Barangay Capitol Site past 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

The incident was captured on the closed-circuit TV camera in the area, and police were able to identify the motorcycle and its license plate.

The Abellana Police Station said the same perpetrators victimized another person a few minutes later.

Despite these incidents, Dalogdog said they are still in control of the situation.

However, he urged the public to be extra careful and to secure their valuables.(AYB)
