Cebu cops on full alert for Duterte’s visit

THE police in Central Visayas is on full alert starting 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, as part of their security measures for President Rodrigo Duterte's visit in Mandaue City on Thursday, August 30.

Police Regional Office-Central Visayas Director Debold Sinas said they have assembled the crowd dispersal management (CDM) teams; anticipating rallies from militant groups.

He said they will implement maximum tolerance on the groups. He observed that the protesters in past rallies were peaceful.

Duterte will distribute certificates of ownership to over 1,000 beneficiaries of a housing project in Mandaue City during the city's 49th Charter Day on Thursday, August 30.

Last August 21, Duterte attended the League of Municipalities of the Philippines Visayas Island cluster meeting. (KAL)
