THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Central Visayas has formally filed a murder case against six suspected assailants of lawyer Joey Luis Wee before the Office of the Cebu City Prosecutor on Thursday, December 10, 2020.

In a media conference Thursday afternoon, lawyer Rennan Augustus Oliva, NBI-Central Visayas director, identified the six suspects as a certain Fausto Edgar Peralta, who, based on his driver's license is from San Vicente, Quezon City; John Raymond Suarez (from Muntinlupa City based on his driver's license); a certain alias Randy Palparan and three other "John Does," including the mastermind.

Both Suarez and Palparan remain at-large while the NBI already has the photos of two of the three unidentified "John Does."

The NBI charged them with murder under Article 248 in relation to Article 8 of the Revised Penal Code (Committed in Conspiracy with one another).

Peralta was turned over to the custody of the NBI-Central Visayas in Cebu after his arrest in Cabuyao, Laguna last December 8. He was escorted by agents of the NBI-Central Visayas and NBI Laguna District.

Oliva said Peralta was positively identified by the witnesses as Wee's triggerman. (WBS)
