A 32-YEAR-OLD cyclist died after he was hit by a jeepney around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
The victim, identified as Marvin Rivera, was a resident of Barangay Cogon Pardo, Cebu City. He was hit and dragged by a passenger jeepney driven by Natalio Yusalina Granzon Jr., 45, of Villahermosa, Tabuelan, Cebu.
Police Corporal Rhenniel Jay Docejo of Parian Police Station said that based on their investigation, Rivera was driving his bike on his way home when he was hit by the jeep on Gen. Echavez St. in Barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City.
The residents who saw the incident called for an ambulance, but Rivera was declared dead around 12:35 a.m. Thursday, December 8, in a hospital.
Docejo said the jeepney driver will be facing a case for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, which might be filed against him Friday, December 9.
Granzon has been detained at the Parian Police Station-1. (BBT/LMY)
