A 64-YEAR-OLD man remained in critical condition after he was hacked by another senior citizen while attending a birthday party around 4:40 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2023, in Barangay Taytay, Badian, Cebu.
The victim was identified as Romulo Bolhano, 64, while the suspect was Roberto Samontañes, 64, of Barangay Basak, Badian town.
Police Corporal Noan Aparre, of the Badian Police Station, said that the victim and suspect were both attending a birthday party when Samontañes, who was already drunk, picked a 19-inch bolo and hacked Bolhano.
Bolhano, who was also drunk, sustained several hack wounds in his body. He was rushed to a hospital in Badian for medical treatment.
The suspect was able to escape after the incident, but he was arrested in a police hot pursuit operation.
Samontañes is currently facing a frustrated murder case, said Aparre. (GPL/LMY)
