DUMANJUG town in southwest Cebu will strictly enforce its curfew ordinance for minors.

This is in compliance with Mayor Gungun Gica's Executive Order No. 0017: Ensuring Rigorous Implementation of Ordinance No. 2016-07, which was issued in response to an ongoing threat to children's safety.

The local law covers children aged 17 and below.

The curfew will start at 10 p.m. and end at 4 a.m. of the following day.

Violators will be fined P400 for the first offense, P800 for the second offense and P1,000 for the third offense, or an equivalent of one week in jail.

"Strict consequences await those who violate the curfew regulations. Fines and potential imprisonment serve as deterrents against non-compliance with the ordinance, underscoring the municipality's commitment to maintaining a secure environment for all," according to the local government unit of Dumanjug.
