THE Barangay Otso Farmers Association (Bofa) trained its members on fish processing on Dec. 2-3, 2021.
The two-day skills training was held at Cebu Technological University (CTU) campus in Barangay Poblacion 8, Tuburan, northwestern Cebu.
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Central Visayas (BFAR 7), in partnership with CTU Tuburan and Moalboal campuses, trained the Bofa members under the value-added product development program, particularly in processing coconut water-treated fish products.
The training was made possible through the efforts of the bureau’s Fisheries Post Harvest and Marketing Division, the Regional Fisheries Training and Fisherfolk Coordination Division, and the Cebu Provincial Fishery Office.
The training program kicked off with the ceremonial turnover of post-harvest equipment and utensils for boneless bangus fish processing by BFAR 7 to Bofa.
