Fastcraft runs aground in Tubigon, Bohol

AROUND 300 passengers and crew were rescued after a roro (roll on, roll off) vessel ran aground in the seawaters off Kanlangi point, Pangapasan, in Tubigon, Bohol province past 5 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2022.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Western Bohol reported that mv Fast Cat M20 carried 289 passengers, 47 crew members, and 35 rolling cargoes.

The vessel departed Cebu City port at 3:40 a.m. Friday for Tubigon, Bohol. The grounding happened at around 5 a.m.

“So far, no signs of oil spill,” the PCG said in a statement.

All passengers were accounted for and reported safe while an investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, Fast Cat cancelled on Friday some of its trips in the Cebu-Tubigon route.
