Filipino-Chinese trader gunned down in Cordova

A FILIPINO-Chinese businessman who was caught in 2015 with P225 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) was shot dead Tuesday, June 26, in Cordova town on Mactan Island in Cebu.

Gary Ong Go, 57, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Police said three unidentified men shot him at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Sitio Agad-Agad, Barangay Poblacion, Cordova.

In June 2015, Go and Sierralyn Borromeo, 25, were arrested in a drug bust in Quezon City with 45 kilos of shabu worth P225 million.

At the time of their arrest, Go was described by authorities as a native of Cebu but a resident of Woodland Subdivision, Angeles City, Pampanga. Borromeo is a resident of Lapu-Lapu City, also on Mactan Island.

Initial investigation showed Go's assailants boarded a gray van with license plate BOO-982.
