First Mother and Child Center in Cebu opens

A WEEK before Mother’s Day, Cebu North General Hospital (NGH) unveiled the first Mother and Child Center in the Visayas last Saturday, May 5.

Mothers from Barangay San Jose, Pit-os, Talamban, and Bacayan in Cebu City joined the opening and inauguration program.

With over 50 beds, Dr. Potenciano Larrazabal III, CebuDoc Group president and chairman of the board, envisions the hospital as family oriented hospital which means a one stop hospital that caters the whole community.

The center, which costs P10 million, also has six labor beds, two delivery rooms, an isolation room, and a playroom with enhanced facilities.

Danilo Cristobal, NGH assistant administrator, said the staff are trained to take good care of the patients, adding that the center also has the cheapest maternity package in the Visayas.

Dr. Ma. Janet Porcia, NGH medical director, said they are ready to serve even with the low price that they can guarantee the best service.

After the cutting of ribbon, mothers from different barangays were given a lecture about insights on motherhood.
