Grains dealer in Toledo City loses cash, valuables to burglars

A RICE and corn grits dealer lost cash and valuables to burglars in Toledo City.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, as recorded on a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera.

The three burglars were seen inside the Consumer Trend General Merchandise on Katipunan Street, Barangay Poblacion.

One of the suspects was identified as Akis, who is being tracked down by police.

Reynaldo Lui Macias, 52, married, owner of the business establishment, discovered the burglary at 5 a.m. and reported the matter to the police at 8 p.m. of February 15.

Based on investigation by Lieutenant Colonel Dennis De Guzman, the suspects destroyed the steel railings on the second floor of the building to obtain entry to the store.

The suspects carted away valuables including .45 pistol, iPod worth P30,000, two Huawei cellphones valued at P20,000 and P10,000, Samsung Galaxy A01 core amounting to P4,500, three DVR (Digital Video Recording) CCTVs worth P15,000 and P300,000 cash. (GPL/TPT)
