A 65-year-old grandfather is placed under observation at the hospital after he drank half a bottle of muriatic acid inside the Fuente Osmeña circle in uptown Cebu City on Friday at 6:30 p.m., October 14, 2022.
Police Senior Master Sergeant Jephthah Jumawan of the Abellana Police Station-2, case investigator, identified the victim as Noel (real name withheld), a resident of Happy Valley in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Jumawan said Alejandro Bacayan, a security guard assigned in the area, called their station after spotting the victim grimacing in pain with a bottle of muriatic acid in his side.
The victim was carrying a sling bag with a note inside.
Noel said in his note that he could not anymore bear the pain that he has been going through due to health problem prompting him to commit the act. (BBT, TPT)
