
CEBU City Mayor Edgardo Labella issued Executive Order (EO) 130 on Thursday, May 6, 2021, lifting the liquor ban that was imposed under EO 117 on Feb. 2, 2021.
Liquor ban in public places in Cebu City was enforced as one of the City's safety measures against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
EO 130 also states that the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), before issuing special permits, must ensure that the establishments' health and infection prevent and control officer undergo special training; inspect the establishments' premises and recommend renovation, if needed; determine whether the premises can hold live entertainment or not; and calculate half capacity of the establishment.
Labella said that drinking liquor in public places, streets, and other establishments that have not secured a special permit from the EOC is prohibited.
Violations of EO 130 may include revocation of business permits. (NRC/With JJL)
