THE bodyguard of Daanbantayan, Cebu Mayor Vicente Loot was caught past midnight Tuesday, June 12, brandishing his two unlicensed firearms in Barangay Malingin, Daanbantayan, Cebu.
The suspect, retired police inspector Jose Dupay, yielded two .45 pistols loaded with bullets were recovered after his arrest.
Dupay was arrested after he was reported to the police station for cleaning his pistols outside his house. He failed to present permits.
He was the owner of the vehicle where the accidental shooting of Loot happened last May 30.
A complaint for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition will be filed against Dupay before the provincial prosecutor's office. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
