POLICE detained a 54-year-old man and his alleged mistress after they were discovered checking into a lodging house in Barangay Valladolid, Carcar City, southern Cebu, past 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 1.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Mark Gifter Sucalit, chief of the Carcar City Police Station, Roel (real name withheld), 54, was detained when his wife Ester, also 54, filed a complaint.
Ester allegedly witnessed Roel and a 51-year-old woman only known as Mila check into the lodging house.
Ester claimed that she monitored her husband after she became suspicious of him.
She said that when Roel left their house around 1 p.m. on Saturday, she and her child boarded a motorcycle and followed him until they arrived at the said lodging house, where Roel and Mila checked in.
She immediately reported the incident to the police, who then carried out the operation that resulted in Roel's arrest at past 3 p.m.
It was learned during police investigation that Roel and Mila are old friends.
The two are being held at the Carcar Police Station detention cell, while they await the filing of concubinage charges against them. (BBT, TPT)
