A 31-year-old man died after he was shot while playing a video game in Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City at 8:55 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Staff Sergeant Benjamin Maglajos of Inayawan Police Station 7 identified the victim as Edgardo Cantillas Insila alias Istoy, a resident of Sitio Tunoblapok in the said barangay, and the suspect as Fernando Gaviola, 30, neighbor of the victim.
Maglajos said Insila was sitting outside their house while playing Mobile Legend when Gaviola arrived and shot him without any provocation.
The victim died 30 minutes after being transported to the hospital.
Gaviola fled with two other companions after the incident.
Police believed that the incident was caused by illegal drugs and that the victim failed to pay the suspect the proceeds of the drug sales. (BBT, TPT)
