A MAN'S right hand was literally blown into bits when a homemade Improvised Explosive Device exploded in Cordova, Friday evening.

Alejandro Novo Pil, 33, was allegedly making the IED when it exploded, local police said.

Recovered from his room were several components for bomb-making including common nails, chemcials, bullets, a caliber .357 revolver and a caliber .45 pistol.

Police Central Visayas Regional Director Debold Sinas said the incident is not terrorist-led but they are conducting an investigation as to why Pil was making an IED.
