A 26-YEAR-OLD man died after three persons took turns shooting him while he was approaching his motorcycle, which he would use to travel home.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening, April 13, 2023, in Sitio Sta. Cruz, Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City.
Master Sergeant Anthony Adizas of Mambaling Police Station 11 identified the victim as Benjie Catalan Campomanes, a resident of Barangay San Jose, Cebu City.
A 15-year-old boy who witnessed the incident said the victim was walking in the area when the three gunmen approached him and took turns shooting him.
Campomanes died instantly. The witness said the incident prompted him and other people outside the chapel to scamper to safety.
The suspect was only identified as a certain Opaw, whose residential address has not yet been known.
According to Adizas, they will investigate all angles, particularly regarding the victim’s identity, considering that the latter was previously imprisoned for illegal gambling.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered seven spent bullet shells of unknown caliber from the scene. (BBT, TPT)
